About
Step Into Mystery
We bring live-action, interactive mystery experiences to a wide range of people and organizations. We did events in Virginia and Washington DC for several years. We had a lot of fun and people who attended our events enjoyed them immensely. They are unique and skillfully constructed. Unfortunately when Covi'd 19 hit, we closed the company because our events involve people closesly interacting in a live social situation.
By the time social events were again appealing and safe, many of our staff had moved on and we had lost touch with many of our clients. People had changed jobs and were working remotely. Even our principals had moved on to other things.
One day I got a call from an old client, Karen DeBord, an owner at the Bedford Landing Inn. They had done a yearly event for many years until Covid stopped them. She wanted to know if we would do another one now that the crisis was over. We did and she was so pleased she mentioned us when she spoke at the Mid Atlantic Inkeepers Association Conference.
By that time our website had expired and we decided to re-start Step Into Mystery with a brand new look. It is with much excitement we are re-launching and looking forward to a new chapter in our business.
Now we are offering a selection of mystery games that you can play and present to your private parties, to entertain your clients, or to raise funds for your organizations.
Yes, you can purchase a mystery "kit" from somewhere like Amazon, or from a company on the web that sells games.
But LOOK CLOSELY!
They are simple.
And they are cheaper than our productions.
They spend more money on packaging and silly props than on creating the mystery!
We have no packaging. We do not send booklets that are pre-digested stories for simple-minded players. We are the only truely interactive events with no actors. Guests are fully emerced in the mystery in a new and exciting way.

“This was a real challenge. It wasn't silly or corney. There were good clues that could only be obtained by talking to other players. My favorite thing was that there were red herrings to lead you in the wrong direction."
